THE STORY

In the tumultuous backdrop of the Bolivian revolution, a raw and gifted singer-songwriter named Nilo emerges from the heart of poverty to ignite a revolution of his own through the power of music.
As a young, budding talent, Nilo's soulful melodies and poignant lyrics capture the attention of one of Bolivia's renowned musical maestros. This mentor's recommendation propels Nilo into the hallowed halls of the prestigious University of Sucre at a tender age, where his musical prowess blossoms. Amid the symphonies and sonnets, he serendipitously encounters his muse and love, Olga.
Upon graduation, Nilo steps into the role of a music teacher, driven by an unwavering commitment to offer the children of Bolivia a brighter future. In search of allies for his cause, he finds an unlikely partner in the Bolivian Communist Party, known as the PCB.
Within the PCB, Nilo's melodious protests, co-authored with the firebrand poet Oscar Alfaro, propel him to the forefront of the party's leadership. With newfound convictions, he clashes with the oppressive government, a dictator hell-bent on eradicating communism from the nation. Nilo becomes a target, enduring cruel capture and torture, and is forcibly exiled to Venezuela.
In this foreign land, Nilo's protest songs resonate as the anthem of the revolution, his voice echoing across borders. He becomes the spirit of Bolivia's distant struggle.
When he finally returns to his homeland in the 1980s, the Bolivia he once fought for is no longer the utopia he envisioned. The very communist party he championed has transformed into a dictatorship, now harboring the same members he once stood against.
We witness a man torn between the choices of his youth and his unyielding dedication to bettering the lives of his nation's children. With a heart heavy with regret, Nilo turns to the haunting melodies of his music to guide him back home, navigating the treacherous waters of his own revolution.
